Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Dos Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 4th minute Zé Dos Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Dos Reis. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Dulemba having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Türk Polis Gücü's Zé Dos Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Dos Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaid Cevahir couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaid Cevahir in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 86 minutes into the game, Türk Polis Gücü's Zaid Cevahir nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaid Cevahir, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 93 played minutes Türk Polis Gücü got a freekick which was hit by Delfino Santirso. Zaid Cevahir took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. The Türk Polis Gücü players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
