Xavier Zoido kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Thiago Ortiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. After having played for 13 minutes, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Valdo Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the MARINUS MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Guimarães couldn't finish the play. Valdo Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 27th minute of the match Jefferson Albuquerque completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jefferson Albuquerque a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Paraguay booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 30 minutes, Evaristo Arósio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MARINUS MZC and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Evaristo Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdo Guimarães during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Covarrubias got free with Perivaldo Moreira in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Jaime Pardo could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Perivaldo Moreira however easily saved by the left post. Perivaldo Moreira made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Jaime Pardo sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Délio Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Paraguay booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. Perivaldo Moreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 72 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Iker Tafalla. In the 75th minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perivaldo Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Hector Covarrubias hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When MARINUS MZC's Valdo Guimarães in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 87th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Paraguay fully deserved thier win.
