Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Valdo Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, MARINUS MZC's Délio Souza got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 37th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 38 minutes, Thiago Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MARINUS MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Vítor de Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MARINUS MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. After 40 played minutes MARINUS MZC got a freekick which was hit by Vítor de Senna. The supporters of El Salvador booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mateo Leguizamo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Perivaldo Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, MARINUS MZC's Evaristo Arósio got a free kick in the 44th minute. The supporters of El Salvador booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Délio Souza made a kick off. Perivaldo Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. El Salvador's attentive Valentino Ferrant managed to snatch the ball when Vicente Prata made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. El Salvador's Abram Luque got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abram Luque struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Perivaldo Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. Thiago Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Délio Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Délio Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Perivaldo Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 85th minute of the match. After 87 minutes of play MARINUS MZC's Vítor de Senna was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 88th minute, Vítor de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdo Guimarães hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Perivaldo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 96th minute of play. The El Salvador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing MARINUS MZC to win.
