Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ignacio Emerson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Emanuel Ocampo made in the 36th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sebastian Villa. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
