Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dibag Martinez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lion Messi's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. Lautaro Martinez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Dibag Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Dibag Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, La Scaloneta's Lautaro Martinez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Dibag Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Leandro Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on La Scaloneta's corner Leandro Paredes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Dibag Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Lautaro Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Scaloneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lion Messi was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Romero hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Dibag Martinez made a huge save. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dibag Martinez having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dibag Martinez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dibag Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Leandro Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 72 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Dibag Martinez managed to make a qualified save. La Scaloneta's players were relieved. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. La Scaloneta made a substitution. Julián Álvarez replaced Lion Messi. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save La Scaloneta from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, La Scaloneta's Julián Álvarez got a free kick in the 79th minute. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Paulo Dybala hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ángel-Fabián Di María kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julián Álvarez in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dibag Martinez. Dibag Martinez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1.
