Vilho Nikkari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Vilho Nikkari. Ritokylä's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ritokylä's Vilho Nikkari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced Ritokylä's goalkeeper Vilho Nikkari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ensio Kampman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vilho Nikkari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Ensio Kampman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Ensio Kampman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ensio Kampman came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 50th minute Mikko Sairanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd match minute, Ritokylä was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terho Valin to maneuver through the defense. When Ritokylä's Didi Fox in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Ritokylä's Vilho Nikkari proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Ritokylä from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 89th minute. Ritokylä's Vilho Nikkari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Cristian Sancho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vilho Nikkari was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
