Valentin Szegh kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Roeles having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Ralph Roeles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 23rd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ralph Roeles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ralph Roeles. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. Ralph Roeles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralph Roeles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute, Zebastian Bergfeldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Julias Rascals Apeldoorn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ralph Roeles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 37th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Roeles having to interfere. In the 45th minute Zebastian Bergfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ralph Roeles came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Caiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn made a substitution. Kurt van der Laan replaced Zebastian Bergfeldt. In the 79th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Roeles having to interfere.
