Rogelio Ruisko hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 de Diciembre's Amadeo Carrizo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 11th minute of play. Amadeo Carrizo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Carrizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, 9 de Diciembre's Tomasz Huchro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Tomasz Huchro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 9 de Diciembre the free kick. After 24 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. After 27 minutes, Alex Chicote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the 9 de Diciembre players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of 9 de Diciembre booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Tomasz Huchro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomasz Huchro made a kick off. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. Tomasz Huchro took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Rogelio Ruisko hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Carrizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeo Carrizo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Tomasz Huchro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomasz Huchro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. If Tomasz Huchro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. 95 minutes into the game, Tomasz Huchro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that 9 de Diciembre were the better team. 9 de Diciembre's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
