After 12 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Silm in the 30th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Clark Kent. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clark Kent saved Zorros del Desierto from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 41 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luis Andino. Allan Silm struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zorros del Desierto. Clark Kent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The supporters of Zorros del Desierto booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Dijoux in the 66th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cai Jian Chang kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Zorros del Desierto's Clark Kent proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Zorros del Desierto from getting a goal against them. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Alex Dijoux might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Clark Kent didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After 83 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. In the 89th minute Zenaido Oviedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
