Oswaldo Lucas hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Santos came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Zé Augusto Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 15th minute of play forced Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s goalkeeper Zé Augusto Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fc Camerunul ★DAC★ the free kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s Zé Augusto Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Zé Augusto Santos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Oswaldo Lucas hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Ramiz İnanç sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laurențiu Bărănescu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Bărănescu in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurențiu Bărănescu in the 61st minute of play. Laurențiu Bărănescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laurențiu Bărănescu in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 71st minute Laurențiu Bărănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Zorita, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 85 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zé Augusto Santos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Zé Augusto Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 92nd minute of the match. The Fc Camerunul ★DAC★ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
