Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17thth minute of the game Antoni Bartoszek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastião Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play forced Umbrella Corporation's goalkeeper Sebastião Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antoni Bartoszek. In the 32nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes, Antoni Bartoszek made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antoni Bartoszek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Lennon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. A collision led to Umbrella Corporation getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Alfredo Curado hit a great ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Sebastião Barbosa in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Bartoszek in the 69th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Antoni Bartoszek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antoni Bartoszek, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antoni Bartoszek in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After taking down the ball on Umbrella Corporation's corner Alfredo Curado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antoni Bartoszek in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Sebastião Barbosa was out of position in the 99 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Umbrella Corporation had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
