The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Football Club Zestafoni's Gav Benbow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 5th minute of play. Djvebe Robakidze's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Djvebe Robakidze helped the player get up and apologised. Djvebe Robakidze kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Acosta in the 9th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 minutes of play, Football Club Zestafoni's Beto Acosta made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! A throw-in in the 17th minute of the game was made by Vince Armentier with Anatoly Pilievi as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Anatoly Pilievi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gav Benbow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beto Acosta hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Beto Acosta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Football Club Zestafoni's Djvebe Robakidze got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 41st minute, Football Club Zestafoni's Gustaw Tylenda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gav Benbow having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. The Football Club Zestafoni fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Football Club Zestafoni's Gustaw Tylenda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 62nd minute Football Club Zestafoni were awarded a corner. Giorgi Gogava went to the cornerflag to take it. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute Football Club Zestafoni were awarded a corner. Giorgi Gogava went to the cornerflag to take it. Beto Acosta was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gav Benbow having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaw Tylenda in the 75th minute of play. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Gustaw Tylenda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaw Tylenda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Beto Acosta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gav Benbow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Anatoly Pilievi notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Football Club Zestafoni booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gav Benbow showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Football Club Zestafoni.
