The audience thought a goal was coming when 狄银川 got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldonis Jaunrubenis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aldonis Jaunrubenis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute 狄银川 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
