In the 31stth minute of the game Nazario Ronaldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 39th minute of play forced Manzano FC's goalkeeper Julian Rocendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montes during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Maximiliano Sanson's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maximiliano Sanson helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Manzano FC got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Sanson. Daniel Zorita, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time.
