Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Marty Byrde sent off a good shot on target. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ignacy Milan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. Ignacy Milan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Marty Byrde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Marty Byrde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ignacy Milan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignacy Milan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Robin Briatte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Marty Byrde's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Union Sportive Modane's Ignacy Milan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 65th minute of play. After 73 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. 76 minutes into the match, Union Sportive Modane's goalkeeper Ignacy Milan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Union Sportive Modane's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Union Sportive Modane throughout the match.
