The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. Allan Marinho took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 14th minute, Guillermo Mariano made a precise shot to the right of Deivid Lira. Red Chicken Football's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Deivid Lira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Allan Marinho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Allan Marinho really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Deivid Lira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After the first half Venezuela were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Marinho to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Deivid Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. In the 70th match minute, Red Chicken Football was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Tavares to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Red Chicken Football's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Deivid Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Red Chicken Football's Deivid Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 81st minute of play. Deivid Lira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-7 in the 82 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Red Chicken Football's Valdo Paraense. After 94 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
