After 5 played minutes Cable a Tierra got a freekick which was hit by Dida Guerra. In the 6th minute of the match Mariano Lacasa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Telesforo skillfully saved the ball. Leonides Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonides Telesforo having to make a save. Leonides Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 12th minute of play forced Cable a Tierra's goalkeeper Leonides Telesforo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Egoi in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Garrido to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Fermin Montiel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cable a Tierra's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermin Montiel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Bertassi in the 20th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 25th minute of play forced Cable a Tierra's goalkeeper Leonides Telesforo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonides Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Saverio Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavino Egoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Pozo to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Narciso Bertassi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gavino Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Bertassi in the 56th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Fontirroig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Leonides Telesforo made a huge save. Cable a Tierra's Leonides Telesforo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 80th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Cable a Tierra got a freekick which was hit by Saverio Mercurio. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Echeverri, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 85th minute of play forced Cable a Tierra's goalkeeper Leonides Telesforo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. Arrigo Corvo tried in the game's 86th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Leonides Telesforo. An annoying self made goal, 1-2. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Bertassi in the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
