An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Hoffmann in the 4th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Perivaldo Sampaio tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes Atlético-PR got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Cruz. After a rather tough play, Atlético-PR's Ambrosio Rayman got a free kick in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Oswaldo Paraíba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Sampaio got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant stood somewhat misplaced when Pedrinho Hoffmann came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 29 minute. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Márcio Cruz scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-2. 41 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Hoffmann came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrinho Hoffmann succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 46th playminute.

Dráuzio Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The supporters of Atlético-PR booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético-PR made a substitution. Hong Jian Fan replaced Pedrinho Hoffmann. Atlético-PR's Yang Ke Xun was substituted for Márcio Cruz. After 62 minutes, Hong Jian Fan made it 5-2 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Oswaldo Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hong Jian Fan's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 88th minute, Hong Jian Fan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-2. After 94 minutes of play, Atlético-PR's Yang Ke Xun made it 9-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Atlético-PR were the better team. Atlético-PR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
