Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Campidelis's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Guto do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 12th minute of the match. Guto do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Alcocer in the 14th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kaká Campidelis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Campidelis in the 18th minute of play. After 44 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Carballo. The long shot by Luiz Eduardo Rosa in the 45th minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the Vicit FC defense, Eliseo Noboa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guto do Vale. The Vicit FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guto do Vale should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Eliseo Noboa took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Guto do Vale to make any attempt to save it. Lautaro Puig succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 60th playminute. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guto do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Kaká Campidelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 73 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaká Campidelis in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guto do Vale was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chants of Costa Rica echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Vicit FC had held the ball for most of the match.
