Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Axel Tasis kicked off to start the match. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Rothwell Park's Sammy Keino. But to his dismay, Sammy Keino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Rothwell Park's Walter Mutuku got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Walter Mutuku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Walter Mutuku hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15thth minute of the game Walter Mutuku who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Walter Mutuku came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Rothwell Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walter Mutuku couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rothwell Park were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sammy Keino took the corner. The corner led Rothwell Park's Sammy Keino to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Mutuku in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Walter Mutuku got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Walter Mutuku had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Walter Mutuku made the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Rothwell Park's Walter Mutuku. But to his dismay, Walter Mutuku quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Mutuku in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Walter Mutuku got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Mutuku got free with Benito Sanz in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Githinji Muhoho having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, William Mohamed dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-3. If Sammy Keino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute William Mohamed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense.
