An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Mutuku in the 27th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Rothwell Park's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Tafalla came free, but Tony Githinji Muhoho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Rothwell Park booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, William Mohamed managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rothwell Park's supporters rose to their feet, but William Mohamed was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd match minute, Rothwell Park was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shekhar Biwott to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Honduras had played much better football throughout.
