Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Best Taffarel having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Matheus Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Best Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Best Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Best Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Muqui FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Best Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Best Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Muqui FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabi Orange didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Muqui FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Espen Hollner to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Best Taffarel could save by the left post. A collision led to Muqui FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Mai Chuan hit a great ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabi Orange's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Leonardo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Muqui FC made a substitution. Patrick Amaral replaced Gabi Orange. After a rather tough play, Muqui FC's Leonardo Soares got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Luiz Fernando de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Best Taffarel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Best Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Murilo Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Muqui FC's Matheus Brodel shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After 81 played minutes Muqui FC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Bolt. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Best Taffarel firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to Muqui FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Espen Hollner hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Amaral in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Best Taffarel having to interfere.
