After 11 minutes of play, Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's Jairo Lauaxeta made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Henrik Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrik Henriksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Fenerbahce ISTANBUL booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stasio Drzewucki might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stasio Drzewucki ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's Henrik Henriksson shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Rau in the 32nd minute of play. Henrik Henriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guillermo Mariano made in the 51st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's Stefan Zweig. Ronny Rau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrik Henriksson. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrik Henriksson in the 80th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's Stefan Zweig quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Henriksson in the 88th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the game, Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's Filip Soetemans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Fenerbahce ISTANBUL had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
