Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sebastian Percival got the match started through his kick off. Albert Gamble received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Gamble, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spike Foley in the 14th minute of play. Dušan Ančic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pastor Eufemio's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pastor Eufemio in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 23rd minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dušan Ančic was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 25th minute, Pastor Eufemio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Eufemio in the 28th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Eufemio came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Percival went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 44 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Eufemio came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio in the 46th minute of play. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dušan Ančic prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Sebastian Percival kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute, Spike Foley made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dušan Ančic having to interfere. Dušan Ančic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 61st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Foley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Percival in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Atlético de Newell's Casey Harban was substituted for Arbi Newell. Pastor Eufemio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 76thth minute of the game Sebastian Percival who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Pastor Eufemio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Gamble in the 88th minute of play. The corner ended in Spike Foley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. In the 91st minute of the match Club Atlético de Newell got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albert Gamble ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 93rd minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albert Gamble, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When the match was over Club Atlético de Newell could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
