The supporters of Venezuela booed when FC Arsenal Varna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radan Anatkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oleg Bobekov kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zhecho Tomev came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lyuben Vlaykovski in the 13th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lyuben Vlaykovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Arsenal Varna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adalbert Mindizov in the 17th minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lyuben Vlaykovski took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Lyuben Vlaykovski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lyuben Vlaykovski to make the kick off. After 57 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the FC Arsenal Varna players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 57 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Patricio Costa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 61st minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 64th minute of the match FC Arsenal Varna got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adalbert Mindizov ran over to the corner to take the kick. Adalbert Mindizov made a great header on FC Arsenal Varna's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. FC Arsenal Varna's Zhecho Tomev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of play. Patricio Costa took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zhecho Tomev. Zhecho Tomev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rosen Penchovski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Gabriel Shiekov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FC Arsenal Varna's Zhecho Tomev got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute FC Arsenal Varna were awarded a corner. Adalbert Mindizov went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, FC Arsenal Varna's Hristo Zlatanchev got a free kick in the 90th minute. The FC Arsenal Varna players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
