The DirectorVisual.com fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when DirectorVisual.com's Leopoldo Luque looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. It was a well-played corner which Felix Montes managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Héctor Martínez tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Mauro Iruinea. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 29th minute. Mauro Iruinea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 33rd minute of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Federico Urtats in the 34th minute. DirectorVisual.com's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oscar Ruggeri in the 35th minute. Mauro Iruinea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play forced DirectorVisual.com's goalkeeper Mauro Iruinea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to DirectorVisual.com getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Héctor Martínez hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

DirectorVisual.com were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oscar Ruggeri took the corner. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Mauro Iruinea made a huge save. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that DirectorVisual.com's Mauro Iruinea managed to reach the ball for a save. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Iruinea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the DirectorVisual.com defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Iruinea. The DirectorVisual.com fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Iruinea should have stopped the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Iruinea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when DirectorVisual.com was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Montiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernán Crespo in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
