The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wágner da Costa during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Wágner da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 4th minute of the match. Wiliam Martins made in the 8th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Miguel Fontes. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Clube Audax Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wiliam Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wiliam Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Clube Audax Metropolitano got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Martins. Juan Gerber's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Clube Audax Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alix Vance in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Francisco Seco sped through Clube Audax Metropolitano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernando Donatello. Fernando Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Wiliam Martins threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's Camilo Franco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 35th minute of play forced Clube Audax Metropolitano's goalkeeper Fernando Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Hugo Calderona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Wágner da Costa got a free kick in the 39th minute. Fernando Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Wiliam Martins made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Hugo Calderona however managed to control. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alix Vance to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Alix Vance came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Maximiliano Escribano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert got a free kick in the 68th minute. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alix Vance, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The throw-in from Wiliam Martins in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. In the 82nd minute, Alix Vance ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After some careless play in the Clube Audax Metropolitano defense, Francisco Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Donatello. The Clube Audax Metropolitano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Donatello should have stopped the shot. Maximiliano Escribano might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Donatello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Escribano ran back to his position shaking his head. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Fernando Donatello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Audax Metropolitano from getting a goal against them. Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
