But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Mannuel was the one to do the kick off. Romeo Ospin charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Felipe Tajo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 83rd minute of play forced Monky FC's goalkeeper Felipe Tajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Wennersten in the 86th minute of play. In the 97th minute, Andres Musko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Monky FC throughout the match.
