Mugur Bejan's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugur Bejan helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Batalionul U23 Dorobanti got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Bejan. Wagner Doro scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wagner Doro in the 41st minute of play.
