After 42 minutes Fălciu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Filip Ivănescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Comșa in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Fălciu's Sergiu Pora was substituted for Dacian Mâinea. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Fălciu's goalkeeper Filip Ivănescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Filip Ivănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Maxim Zbârnea made a great header on Fălciu's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabin Comșa in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sabin Comșa in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 87th minute of play forced Fălciu's goalkeeper Filip Ivănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Zorita during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Zbârnea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fălciu's Maxim Zbârnea in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Fălciu were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
