The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tyge Oehlerich. That made the score 2-1 after 72 minutes of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tyge Oehlerich read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Pheonix FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Felix Montenegro got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score.
