In the 11th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Muslera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Fernandinho Muslera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gazanfer Sabeddin to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandinho Muslera. Fernandinho Muslera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Gazanfer Sabeddin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Mustafa Necati Onuk kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Yusuf Bahadır Kunt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 94th minute, Gazanfer Sabeddin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led Venezuela's Joshua Secada to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernandinho Muslera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Venezuela's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
