After a defensive mix-up in Poetass FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Goiano came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kalle Billberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Poetass FC's Kalle Billberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José Maria Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Cássio Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Poetass FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. José Maria Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but José Maria Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Maria Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Goiano saved Poetass FC from getting behind.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kalle Billberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Jon-Egil Schjelderup sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kalle Billberg in the 61st minute of play. Cássio Maia hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Kalle Billberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Poetass FC's José Maria Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Poetass FC from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Maria Goiano. The goal made the score 3-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thommy Maerschalks, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute Poetass FC were awarded a corner. Jon-Egil Schjelderup went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jon-Egil Schjelderup almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After 82 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. In the 86th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witalis Brysz, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 93 minutes, Witalis Brysz made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jon-Egil Schjelderup went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Luiz Fernando de Lara. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Poetass FC.
