Sven Nordkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when spikarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Alefors didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of spikarna booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded spikarna left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
