In the 11th match minute, Djurgårdens IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbigniew Nigbor to maneuver through the defense. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Zbigniew Nigbor with Hieronim Posadzki as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Abram Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Colombia's Kevin Mastache to fire away a dangerous shot which Yngve Fredriksson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Kevin Mastache made a precise shot to the right of Yngve Fredriksson. Djurgårdens IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Karl-Åke Termander took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Åke Termander in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Djurgårdens IF's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Yngve Fredriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Karl-Åke Termander cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Djurgårdens IF's Karl-Åke Termander. But to his dismay, Karl-Åke Termander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Djurgårdens IF's Alex Vinström was substituted for Karl-Åke Termander. Yngve Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Mastache in the 76th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Alex Vinström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Djurgårdens IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Vinström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Luis Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kevin Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Yngve Fredriksson made a huge save. 92 minutes into the game, Alex Vinström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Djurgårdens IF's Yngve Fredriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Djurgårdens IF from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Djurgårdens IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colombia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
