The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ludomir Zacharek got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Jorge Sainz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ludomir Zacharek came free with the goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquin Gayoso could save by the left post. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Cezary Kasiewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Ludomir Zacharek succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Betão Pontes was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Betão Pontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 15 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Francisco Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Betão Pontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 18 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. 24 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão Pontes. GKS Katowice's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 26th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betão Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Cezary Kasiewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Cezary Kasiewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Maximiliano Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximiliano Escribano couldn't finish the play. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Pontes having to interfere. Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Pontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Francisco Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Betão Pontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Kasiewski in the 43rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The GKS Katowice players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Uruguay were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tytus Karwowski charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tytus Karwowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GKS Katowice! GKS Katowice:s Betão Pontes showed great skill when he stopped Jaime Cazalla:s penalty. If Lucjan Werra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Werra, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A hard shot 62 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Betão Pontes managed to make a qualified save. GKS Katowice's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in GKS Katowice's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betão Pontes came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Cezary Kasiewski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. The Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Uruguay's Francisco Seco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 77 minutes into the match, GKS Katowice's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Betão Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olgierd Cwojdak's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olgierd Cwojdak helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, GKS Katowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olgierd Cwojdak to maneuver through the defense. Betão Pontes stood somewhat misplaced when Francisco Seco came free in front of goal and shot 1-5 to the left of him in the 80 minute. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Betão Pontes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Escribano in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betão Pontes saved GKS Katowice from getting behind. Cezary Kasiewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucjan Werra went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Francisco Seco took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Betão Pontes to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to GKS Katowice getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Olgierd Cwojdak hit a great ball. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Uruguay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Uruguay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
