The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rozy Sitanggang made in the 27th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuralim Arifin in the 30th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in GOLATH's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Bangun came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Galih Suryata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Weldy Sitanggang kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. When Hasan Kussoy fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GOLATH's protests and gave Hasan Kussoy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th match minute, GOLATH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hasan Kussoy to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefan Bangun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stefan Bangun was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Joshua Secada capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joshua Secada really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Roberto Ocampo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when GOLATH was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rozy Sitanggang didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Rully Soputan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to GOLATH getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hasan Kussoy hit a great ball. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
