With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, Carapa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Braulio Manny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braulio Manny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Ugutz in the 21st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carapa FC's Braulio Manny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lucas Ugutz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Carapa FC's goalkeeper Braulio Manny had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Braulio Manny was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lucas Ugutz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Braulio Manny made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Ecuador played a much better game than Carapa FC and deserved their victory. The Carapa FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
