The Gnaget leker fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ture Viberg should have stopped the shot. Ture Viberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Gnaget leker got a freekick which was hit by Ragnar Österlund. The crowd rose to their feet as Gnaget leker's Ragnar Österlund slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-1 after 21 minutes of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Gnaget leker's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ture Viberg quite easily take care of the ball. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Gnaget leker's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ture Viberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gnaget leker's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gnaget leker's Ture Viberg did a great save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Gnaget leker's Ture Viberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Gnaget leker from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ture Viberg could save by the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Ture Viberg in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ture Viberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ture Viberg came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ture Viberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute.
