Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando da Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando da Cunha. Garopaba F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 13th minute, Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando da Cunha saved Garopaba F.C from getting behind. Peru were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Garopaba F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Dedé Correia put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rolando Noboa. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedé Correia. After 27 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Orlando da Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. Orlando da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orlando da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 37th minute of play. When Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peru's goalie prevented a goal. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orlando da Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. 43 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 45 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wambasther Özil who took care of the corner kick. Orlando da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Julian Murillo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 60th minute of play. Garopaba F.C's Marconi Galvan managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Moises Gayoso in the 67 minute of the game. 69 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Urtungo came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Urtungo in the 76th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Orlando da Cunha made a huge save. Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Garopaba F.C from getting a goal against them. Yanne Van Meerbeeck kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Eliseo Mina, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 94th minute of play. Peru were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Garopaba F.C to leave the ground with a draw.
