Liam Downes hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Palben came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Gaspar Guillelmus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaspar Guillelmus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Stefano in the 19th minute of play. Tomas Berganza hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Gaspar Guillelmus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Gaspar Guillelmus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Emilio Stefano sped through Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The supporters of Panama booed when IFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Gagriel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Abraham Alguacil came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Alguacil couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute Erasmo Palben shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Miguel Miralles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFC the free kick. In the 40th minute, Emilio Stefano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With an all-out effort, Panama's Dušan Tomčo threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dušan Tomčo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Tomas Berganza made a precise shot to the right of Dušan Tomčo. IFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Palben to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento got a free kick in the 55th minute. Erasmo Palben took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Cotilla. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 57 played minutes IFC got a freekick which was hit by Martin Peters. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Stefano in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. IFC's Dušan Tomčo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Emilio Stefano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. After a rather tough play, Panama's Aaron Barrios got a free kick in the 81st minute. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Erasmo Palben sent off a good shot on target. Martin Peters kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. The Panama supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching IFC's performance. The match ended with a win for IFC.
