Łukasz Fabiański showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 31st minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Pawel Wielowiejski came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th match minute, Gwarek Zabrze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiktor Wincek to maneuver through the defense. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Gwarek Zabrze's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Łukasz Fabiański quite easily take care of the ball. In the game's 42nd minute Mexico's Joel Gaona took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Łukasz Fabiański and thus the score was 1-0. In the 45th minute, Lautaro Mancebo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Łukasz Fabiański showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Łukasz Fabiański didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. The supporters of Mexico booed when Gwarek Zabrze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiktor Wincek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Łukasz Fabiański made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Łukasz Fabiański tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Gwarek Zabrze's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Łukasz Fabiański quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 75 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Gwarek Zabrze's Łukasz Fabiański tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Łukasz Fabiański took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pawel Wielowiejski kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Łukasz Fabiański showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Łukasz Fabiański made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 88th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richie Puch in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pawel Wielowiejski in the 94th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
