Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Ruisko was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, El Millo de Haedo's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fernando Ruisko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Ruisko came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 27 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Ruisko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fernando Ruisko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to El Millo de Haedo getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Hernán Crespo hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Ruisko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fernando Ruisko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 42nd minute of play. When Jeremias Ereinotz fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Millo de Haedo's protests and gave Jeremias Ereinotz a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Fernando Ruisko made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fernando Ruisko firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 56th minute of play forced El Millo de Haedo's goalkeeper Fernando Ruisko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, El Millo de Haedo's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Fernando Ruisko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Aurelio Aureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Hernán Crespo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Ruisko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the El Millo de Haedo defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Ruisko. The El Millo de Haedo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Ruisko should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Millo de Haedo the free kick. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Hernán Crespo:s penalty. 94 minutes into the match, El Millo de Haedo's goalkeeper Fernando Ruisko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita.
