Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tadeo Jakobe kicked off to start the match. In the 5th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Mattias Wallengren scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Cordara in the 10th minute of play. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Newell´s's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mattias Wallengren came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Newell´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mattias Wallengren couldn't finish the play. When Newell´s's Tadeo Jakobe in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias Wallengren in the 27th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustino Maura went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Omar Cordara scored 0-4 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Omar Cordara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Maura in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Jakobe in the 44th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newell´s's Amancio Bilintx was substituted for Mattias Wallengren. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Tadeo Jakobe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 62ndth minute of the game Tadeo Jakobe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Yepes during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lorenzo Yepes hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Indiana Turban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Newell´s booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Yepes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Newell´s's Tadeo Jakobe. But to his dismay, Tadeo Jakobe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. Amancio Bilintx struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newell´s. If Faustino Maura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the game, Fernan Crescencio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newell´s's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. After a rather tough play, Newell´s's Fernan Crescencio got a free kick in the 78th minute. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Jakobe in the 83rd minute of play. Gonzalo Montier was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Indiana Turban sent off a good shot on target. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Cordara in the 90th minute of play. Ricardo Zorita was a little too slow when Tadeo Jakobe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 0-10. 95 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Omar Cordara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-11. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 99th minute of play. Newell´s's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
