He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Luiz Fábio Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 43rd minute. Sebastian Villa might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fábio Pombal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Villa ran back to his position shaking his head. Luiz Fábio Pombal made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Sebastian Villa sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Cibran, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Luiz Fábio Pombal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Pombal having to interfere. Luiz Fábio Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fábio Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Tróia in the 69th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game was made by Victorino Gutierrez with Angelo Cibran as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Honduras's attentive Sebastian Villa managed to snatch the ball when Jelle Van Dessen made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moises Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fábio Pombal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute of the match Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fábio Pombal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 86th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério Tróia in the 88th minute of the match. Luiz Fábio Pombal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luca Espinar went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Honduras fully deserved thier win.
