In the 9th minute, Carmine Iannone reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-0. Robert Matthews hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Flavio Lavatrice. Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Carmine Iannone tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 54 minutes of play, Molfetta sportiva's Ni Liang Yong made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper Flavio Lavatrice had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Flavio Lavatrice when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Cirigliano in the 62nd minute of play. Ni Liang Yong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domenico Campo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Molfetta sportiva were the better team. Molfetta sportiva's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
