Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 35 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Viggo Lundkvist came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helge Brun in the 36th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After having played for 51 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Qian Xing Wei came out of the goal and Sebastian Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lautaro Navarro was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Helge Brun capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Helge Brun really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Helge Brun hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Viggo Lundkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. If Olof Högström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute.
