Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şükür Hagi, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camron Rhodes in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Leicester Lions's Alexander Cheetham got a free kick in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A collision led to Leicester Lions getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Will Patton hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Grant Blacknell. Leicester Lions's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 59th minute, Will Patton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Grant Blacknell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Şükür Hagi in the 74th minute. After 78 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them.
