Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 63 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Lamonica came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Davi Lamonica made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Dinamo Colorado's Rivaldo Dez was substituted for Moisés de Azevedo. 74 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabrício Negri narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
