After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Octav Enciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Octav Enciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hector Covarrubias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avram Panaiteanu having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avram Panaiteanu saved Batalionul U23 Dorobanti from getting behind. After 12 minutes of play, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Avram Panaiteanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juan Diego Tenorio made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Hector Covarrubias however managed to control. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Pârlog didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Narcis Cazacu in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paraguay's Jaime Pardo. A hard shot 24 in the game by Xavier Zoido from a close distance when the talented Avram Panaiteanu managed to make a qualified save. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's players were relieved. In the 28th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avram Panaiteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Avram Panaiteanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. In the 32nd minute, Primitivo Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Avram Panaiteanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Avram Panaiteanu was a little too slow when Primitivo Escribano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-0. 39 minutes into the match, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Avram Panaiteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Avram Panaiteanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Batalionul U23 Dorobanti from getting a goal against them. Avram Panaiteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 41st minute of the match. Jaime Pardo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Avram Panaiteanu 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Hector Covarrubias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Avram Panaiteanu. The goal made the score 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nechifor Cosoroabă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Primitivo Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Primitivo Escribano couldn't finish the play. Avram Panaiteanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Pardo's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalkeeper Avram Panaiteanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Pardo in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Avram Panaiteanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Avram Panaiteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 68th minute of play forced Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalkeeper Avram Panaiteanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Avram Panaiteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Avram Panaiteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 74th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Primitivo Escribano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Avram Panaiteanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Avram Panaiteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 97th minute of the match. Avram Panaiteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Paraguay were the better team. Paraguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
